Danielle Jernigan

Contemplative Essayist & Editor

Namaste and Welcome.

My writing explores Love, spirituality, estrangement, and self-regard. At its heart is a meditation on voice: the ways we seek it, recover it, protect it, and offer it to the world. My work is informed by a belief in interspirituality, as well as my experiences as a yoga practitioner and birth worker. I’m interested in the places where the personal meets the sacred, and in the rituals—both ordinary and intentional—that help us remain connected to ourselves and to one another.I’ve been honored to have my writing published in several places, including Nourishing Word Blog, Madame Noire, and the New York Times Parenting Newsletter, where my first Tiny Victory micro-essay, about my daughter using her AAC device for the first time, was published. My latest essay, “A Sister’s Salve,” appears in No Contact: Writers on Estrangement (Catapult, 2026).I also share my ponderings and occasional meditations through Letters for the Estranged, a somewhat-monthly letter, a reminder that, even in estrangement, we are not alone.
